Who our group is:
Self Advocacy Sydney is an organisation run by and for people with intellectual disability.
We provide support to people with intellectual disability to become their own Self Advocates.
What does our group care about?
We want to help people with intellectual disability to:
- Make their own decisions
- Speak up for themselves and others
- Know about disability rights
Things our group has worked on:
- Support people with intellectual disability to be able to speak up and represent themselves
- Run training for people with intellectual disability to become leaders
- Run training for people with intellectual disability to give peer support to each other
Who can be member of our group?
- Full members have an intellectual disability
- Associate members are people who support Self Advocacy
You have to pay a small fee every year to be a member of Self Advocacy Sydney
